Los Bandits de Michigan are: René Meave, guitar/vocals, Guillermo Martinez, accordions/vocals, Esteban (Steve) Ortiz, drums/vocals and Ernesto (Ernie) Ortiz, bass guitar and vocals. Los Bandits Music reflects the richness of Tex-Mex music by combining Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Country, Rock, Norteño, and Tejano Music. Los Bandits have an alternative world-beat sound that appeals to a very diverse audience.  Los Bandits have been performing since 1991, but each individual member has over thirty years of musical experience.

Los Bandits currently working on their 4th CD, which will be release in the spring of 2009. Other recordings include  “Tex-Mex Del Midwest & Live En El State Theatre, Los Bandits,” & “La Onda Del Midwest,”

In 1999, the Governor and The Hispanic Caucus of The State of Michigan honored Rene and Guillermo with a special tribute, for their outstanding contribution to Tex-Mex music in Michigan. In 2005 a documentary on the band entitled,  “MORE THAN A TEX-MEX BAND.” was released.

Guillermo Martinez, Accordion, Lead Vocals, songwriter, co-founder, poet, soupmaker, Tejano, de San Luis Potosi, Y a former migrant farm worker

Introducing the Ortiz Brothers:

Steve Ortiz, formerly with Sony Records, Escorpion.
Steve joins Los Bandits just in time for the recording of the 4th CD.
He brings to the band drumming skills in a variety of genres,
vocals and soon to be added, abilities as a guitar player.
Welcome Steve.

Ernie Ortiz, what can I tell you,
he is a former Band member and recorded on the 3rd LB CD.
Ernie is a very gifted musician. As the band’s Bass player,
he also brings remarkable skills in song arrangements,
vocals, guitar, drums, and percussion.
Welcome back Ernie.
